BIBLE TRANSLATION

English speakers are fortunate to have many English Bible translations. Multiple translations have been beneficial to Bible reading and study. HomeandChurch.com has chosen the Contemporary English Version (CEV) of the Bible as its default translation because of the ease of which it can be read and heard by children.

The CEV uses the dynamic equivalence method, which is a thought-for-thought translation rather than a word-for-word translation strategy. Translated at a fourth grade reading level, the CEV is highly readable and understandable by children. The CEV can be understood by those children and adults who have limited or no comprehension of Bible language, making it a translation that can be understood by everyone.
