THE OLD MODEL OF MINISTRY
It’s the congregation’s job to pass on faith.
UNHEALTHY DEPENDENCE: Parents and grandparents have been inadvertently trained to depend solely upon the congregation for faith formation.
DROP-OFF MENTALITY: Parents and grandparents expect the faith formation of their children to be the primary responsibility of the paid staff and volunteers of the congregation.
DROP OUTS: Young people leaving their faith in Christ in large numbers.
THE FUTURE DOES NOT ARRIVE UNANNOUNCED!
If congregations keep doing what they have always done (the OLD model) they will continue to get the same OLD results.
THE NEW MODEL OF MINISTRY
It takes a home-congregation partnership to pass on faith!
NORMAL ROUTINES: The congregation equips families to fuse faith formation into the normal routines of family life.
RESOURCES: The congregation equips families with resources, training, and practice opportunities for the home.
GOAL: To strengthen your congregation’s partnership with the home, so that a faith in Christ that lasts a lifetime is passed on to the next generation.
